Feel free to use the following texts (verbatim or as a guideline) in communicating with users on common issues. Please edit and add to the texts. Remember the four tildes generate a signature and timestamp in mediawiki which is helpful in discussions.

Pathway lacking references

Thanks for your contribution. This pathway is very useful but does not cite literature yet. If you know a good general review article for this topic, it's very easy to add: look up the article in pubmed and copy the pubmed-id (PMID). Then edit the pathway and right-click somewhere in the empty space and select add Literature. In the resulting dialog you can paste the PMID, query pubmed direclty and the information for the reference is filled in automatically.

Pathway lacking database annotation

Thanks for your contribution. This pathway is very useful but many of the Data Nodes lack a reference to a protein, gene or metabolite database. Proper database references is crucial for the usefulness of the pathway both at WikiPathways and when downloaded in other formats. To add database references to a Data Node, double-click the node and in the resulting dialog perform a search for the data node name. The search will result in a list of IDs from different databases matching your query that you can choose from to annotate the node.

Pathway marked for deletion

This pathway appears to lack actual pathway content and looks more like a tutorial or practice pathway. Therefor, the pathway has been tagged for deletion. If this is indeed the start of an actual pathway, please provide additional content including gene, protein and metabolite database annotation, literature references and pathway title and description.

Test or Tutorial Pathways

Thanks for trying out WikiPathways. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask us (wikipathways-discuss). I went ahead and marked this pathway as a 'test' pathway. It will be deleted in a week or so, unless you object.

Pathway needs a proper title and expansion

This pathway is interesting but very small right now. This is not a problem per se but making the pathway easy for others to find is crucial for the pathway to expand. Would you like to suggest a good title?

Pathway will be included in GenMAPP archives
